after 2 attempts to get it delivered, I arranged to pick up my package at UPS this morning. This little beauty slipped thru my fingers back at the beginning of the month. The evening was hectic and I was waiting for the right "timing" to ask permission to buy. While waiting, the saw sold. It may have been my "darkest hour" (over dramatization for effect). Anyways, next morning while surfing another site, the saw showed up. It took some negotiating but we got the deal done. I have my Holy Grail saw, and the former owner didnt do too bad himself.

Thank you to all those that brought this saw to my attention here on AS, Cgraham1, Tpope, Red Fir Down, Low Volt, and to those who aided me in bringing this saw home.

I've never been a fan of the 288, and generally hate large ported Swedish magnesium, but that saw looks amazing!

Gonna clear off the top of my Armoire. If I have to look at dozens of purses, shoes, and pieces of jewelry... she can look at something I love. This wasnt bought to use. More of a trophy to me. I got plenty of others with fuel in em.

It's the "crowning acheivement" of my collection. Of course there are rarer saws, certainly more valuable saws, but the 288xp does it for me. I missed out on it trying to do the right thing and ask permission instead of forgiveness. After I woke up the next morning and saw that it was sold for the BIN, I was bummed. Kari told me that she almost got up the night before to buy it but didnt. I thought it was gone forever. When I saw it show up on another site, I was intent on convincing the new owner that I wanted it more than he did. After several days, he graciously agreed to sell it to me. I am in his debt. This is the 4th saw I have bought from him in the last month.
