What would you do ! ? ! ? ? ?

If you aquired a brand new 1987 solo 603 (103cc ) never had fuel or oil in it , never had a bar or chain on her !

If she's been run, it was at the factory.

the orange tag has the mfg date and break in procedure

The instruction and IPL packet was still sealed until some arrogant individual ripped it open before the auction

O.K. !

1. would you keep her cherry or use her as she was intended to be ?

2. 36" or 42" bar ?

3. turtle wax or armour all ?

4. store her in the garage or on the nightstand by your bed ?

( please note giving my new girlfriend to you was not an option !)

However if I do decide to run her , she will be making rounds at the next gtg !

I would hug him, and love him, and pet him and squeeze him and name him George......

You are overthinking the process. The best solution is to send it to me and find another saw you will not be afraid to run.

Treat it like any other saw you bought new. In my case, that would mean putting it in the wood. Most of all enjoy it whether that be running or just looking. Ron

Sweet find,
Here are some pic's of mine,
Found it through a fellow member here.
All i did was mount the bar and chain. Still
has had NO gas or OIL, She is as new as
they get.

Wa-a-a-al

ya'all need to mosey on down here to teh farm and then we go for a ride in the deutz pickup and go cut some MONSTAH SWAMP TREEZ

...then, cut a buncha--say--16" long "cookies" with it, say, a few hundred of them things, just ta make sure that saw all be done broke in and stuff.... Make a video and brag on the internets. Then, go home, leave all them "cookies" laying around..no worries, I'll clean it all up...happy to hep out

Get a bar and cut with it. Trick to keeping saws pristine is spray them with WD40 before cutting on the plastics, spray WD40 when your done. After your done air hose it off. Come back with a degreaser then air hose it. Then set it up. Has worked great so far.

Takes 5 minutes max and the saw will always be nice. Also WD40 cuts old caked on stuff as well!!

dhibbs75 my neighbor has 1. it has some serious power with the 36" bar

I drove all thru hickory lookin for you this afternoon
after I visited with duffy for a bit tryin to scrounge up a bar for her !

Im just wondering if 42" would bog her down too much ?

well scott I got a pro saw finally....LOL !

mike

You shouldn't have any problems with a 42" running 3/8, idk about .404 though. I pulled a 42" on smaller

You have a brand new 6 cube saw, the biggest saw in your sig, and you are wondering if you should run it or not. I would buy a 36 and 42 inch bar for it in .404 it will pull it fine. The question you should be asking is where do I get red chaps to match my saw. I would not mill with that saw as milling is rough on saws, but I would take it firewood cutting. You will be able to tease your friends on how small their tools are.:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

wanted : fire engine red bar 42 " length also fire engine red matching XL short chaps !

LOLOLOLOLOL

any of you guys used the bar spacers on the mkt ?

are they plastic ?
are they durable ?

Wow!Both those saws look great. As what to do with them I wouldn;'t be able to make my mind up if I had them.I'm not going to have that problem when I get those two Solo Rexs I just received out of there boxes.Sorry they are not NOS.
