you was looking on the wrong side of hickory,, our addy is hickory but we live pretty close to fristoes
a pro saw??? finally??? when did they consider poulan wild things a pro saw????? JK,, which one did you get???

OK , here in WKY we have some really tenacious insects
every time i start up my olde I.H.'s i have to inspect several key areas to insure mud/dirt daubers havent built a fist sized nest on my radiator or carb linkage

I have seen guys burn up perfectly good drillpresses by plugging them in before checking for dirt daubers in the electric motors

but today while blowing out the dust off big red
I blew out a half dozen wasps and could see a half dozen more i couldnt get to
I did an exploratory on her to get ALL the wasps and insure myself there wasnt a paper wasps nest inside waiting to catch on fire

heres what i found

my new girlfriend has bugs !
18 wasps 2 wooly worms a spider eggsac and a handfull of ladybugs
no wasp nest but she will run cooler now

another pitfall of a N.O.S. find is the rust from humidity

I took a scotchbrite pad to the flywheel magnets, coil pickup
the chain brake band and the clutch drum

several drops of oil in the cylinder

now if i can just wrangle a suitable bar......? ? ?

OK !
heres her new break in bar

It'll be another month before I can fire her up , tune and break her in
due to scheduled surgeries
if my hand wasnt bandaged up youd see me holding her like a broadsword on a conan the barbarian book !

enjoy the pics,
mike

Is that extremely clean saw sitting on a Scout? I am a huge fan of those old Scouts.

I love those old Scouts as well.

My uncle had an International Harvester pickup when I was a kid. It wasn't the Scout, just a later IH full-size pickup. It had a hole in the rear of the bed where a neighbor shot at my uncle with a 12-gauge because my uncle was always tearing down the old back-country farm roads where we lived. The neighbor was around 92 at the time. He was ornery and cranky.

I just read this yesterday in the jokes forum.

“Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.”

You need a full wrap and an outside dog!!

fabrication of the outer dawg is underway !

ya find a full wrap let me know

I need the rubber cover for the decomp valve too

If you do a full wrap you'll most likely have to go with the bigger dogs also...
