So I need another chipper. I've currently demoed the bandit 250xp w/ 140hp perkins and I've also demoed the carlton 2512. The carlton seemened better built but the bandit out performed the carlton by far. Thought about the morbarks?

From what I've been reading the bandit is the way to go. What do you guys think

we have a 250 xp with the 110hp cummins, a good machine. I dont like how the feed drum cannot be opened by a lever, and it doesn't rotate the chute easily (takes 2 people, need to rig the pin), but a very good machine.

I owned a morbark 13 several years ago, (was a drum, I like them better) and it was awesome. really heavy, but built like a tank. ate 12" hickory all day.

if you are serious about chippers then take a look at the woodsman. even the 18in machine is solid. chips nice for sure. got a winch. dont buy a chipper without a winch. the winch is worth its weight in gold.

I've got 2 vermeer 1250's w/ 85hp perkins. Next year I'll probably trade the other in as well. I think I'm going with the bandit, has option for winch, 140hp perkins, feed wheel lift cylinder, 5 year warranty on engine. there giving me the best on my trade in. there asking 35k plus tax. I've looked at the new vermeers, morbarks, carltons and demoed all nothing compares to the bandit.

dont count out the woodsman. we got a 18xx without the grapple that has 8000 hard hours on it and it still eating wood like a champ.

This has got to be the best residential trim rig on the market.

Pft. JPS I love you man but you need wider exposure. I can get my 1590 anywhere you can get a bc1000 but chip bigger and better and run a winch and still be able to open feed rollers by control rather than stop the whole machine and jack em up?!?!?!?

Ewwwww

Bandit!

Bandit!

Bandit!

Bandit!

Depends on the majority of work you do. If you are doing a lot of big removals, definitely checkout the woodsman. I'm working with a crew right now that has a woodsman 18X and it is pretty impressive the size and speed of wood it chews through.

For pruning and small removal crews, the bandits do the job.

bought a brand new bandit 250 xp w/ 140hp perkins today. hydro lift cylinders, twist handle tongue. bandit yellow. 2 yr warranty on machine 5 year on engine. Left the winch out for 2500.00 screw that.

thats a nice machine but only a meathead would by brand new and not get a winch. wow.

a winch is a bolt on kit add on on the bandits as some others arent. pretty much you can buy the winch and bolt it on yourself within an hour
