need A New Saddle
Hey Guys I'm Sorta New To The Site. I Only Have Made A Couple Of Post. But I Could Use Your Help. As You Have Read I'm Looking Tobuy A New Climbing Saddle And Am Wondering What All You Guys Use And How Comfortable They Are......thanks...... Pics Would Be Great.....

I use the buckingham master II and I love it. There are many that simply despise it.

I also have a Butterfly II that I rarely use (it actually belongs to the novia). Very good, but a bit spendy.

Many start on Weaver saddles- probably because the boss buys the saddle and they only cost $80! Do yourself a flavor and get something with individual leg straps!

Welcome to our sick little cult.

master II.

It appears that skinny people love them (like myself). The others hate it. This is just what i've seen, before you guys blast me for making such a broad statement. It's based upon the simple proven Petzl rock climbing saddles I'm used to when I used to do that about 10 years ago. Just beefier design.

Order it from Sherrill. I think its only $165, been climbing on mine for a year and a half or so. I also use the petzel paw, a ditty bag, and 2 kong bent gate biners on mine.

All of that ^ is available from sherrill.

Sherrill has a banner at the top or you can follow this: www.wtsherrill.com

I started on a weaver. No good for me. Too heavy and bulky and stiff......
Arbormaster Pro Versatile next. Comfy for me, but took a while to get the butt load of straps and adjustments just right and then I had to sew them down b/c the straps would creep. Now I use the Tree Majic Saddle. Very light, very comfy, rides a little in the manly area, not too bad though. Big saws do not hang well from it, but I can deal w/ that.

I will try the Ness work saddle soon. Looks real comfy and the price is right!

I use the master II with the big D-rings. Very good saddle. One draw back is it has friction buckles that very slowly over time need to be tightened back up. No big deal. I like it.

Do not buy a but strap saddle, they pinch your hips.

I wouldn't switch from my Buckingham Versatile saddle. I've never had any complaints about it. Great for pruning, removals, and cabling where you might but stationary for a while. I tried a Master once, but didn't care for it. Probably didn't have it adjusted properly.

basically what it boils down to is you have to try a few out. If I remember right, lumberjack did it the right way, buying like six of them, hanging in all of them for a while, then sending back the 5 he didn't like.

Try as many as you can before you buy.

Well I ordered a glide which was backordered and the ness. The ness came and I love it, and I didnt really try anything else, I put the glide on just to see how it felt, and shipped it back.

I just had a hard time finding a saddle they had in stock, apparently the saddle gods were lookin out for me that day.

The Ness is very nice in my book.

Im climbing in a Tree Austria saddle. Has ind. legs and a floating D. Nice thing about it if you want to add a bosun seat, it simply snaps on. Unlike the B2 that you have to take apart. Its an additional cost, but its not mandatory.

I started in weaver floater, switched to a M2, and now on the TA. Its nice to be back in a floater.
