Where can I find a 300 ford engine for my altec whisper chipper?

Any auto parts store can get a regular 300 inline. Most short blocks are around $1k.

i'm wrong my engine is fine theres a scissoring noise coming from the clutch and when I try to engage the clutch the it won't engage. Smoke comes out of the clutch housing. Is a clutch hard to put in? Where do I get a clutch for this chipper?
