need aphlund chipper help

I have a early to mid 1980`s chipper,it has the ford inline 6 cyl. I am trying to get the owners manual ,I talked to altec they need the serail number.I can not find the number can anyone tell me where asphlund put the serial number

try looking for a welded number on or near about the traier tonque on the chipper.

ty I will look tomarrow and let you know.Now that I think about it I did see a welded number on the side of the drum,

It doesn't matter, because all of the 12 and 16 inch drum machines (A to JEY) are covered in the same single manual. Expect to pay about $45.

Thanks for the responces,I talked to altec today and they told me the same thing one manual covers all the whisper models
