Hi to all. I'm looking for the chain- bar guides for my Homelite, 600-D, C-5 and C-51 saws. They all look the same. They from what I can gather, have the Oregon F014 bar mount pattern. I'll attach a tracing I made of the inside plate. Anyone know where I can get 3 sets of guide plates for these saws? Thanks and take care. Lewis.

To Mike mandry:

Mike. I just went out and got my 600 D and removed the bar. The 600 D plates fit the C-5 and C-51. They're identical except for the center hole in the drawing I posted. I've looked for part numbers on all these plates but see nothing on them. I would greatly appreciate your checking and seeing what you have or can come up with. Lewis.

Guide Plate picture.

Hello to all. I like tinkering with chainsaws, but this computer thing Peeves me at times. I think that I have the picture thing down. After scanning a picture I see now how to save to gif. file. So here it is again. Should work. Thanks to Rocky and Glen. Lewis..

Picture size:

Well I don't know what's going on. When I first clicked on the picture, acessing this site through MSN.com, it more than filled my screen like the first bitmap image. I then went to microsoft internet explorer and acessed this site, clicked on the gif. attachment and it worked fine. I could bring it up in a smaller window and click and enlarge to to full screen. I then went back to MSN and tried it again and it now seems to work just fine. I'm not sure what was gong on, but will remember to post in gif. images when scanning from my scanner. Now trying to figure out what this jpeg. thing is. Thanks. Lewis.

Bar plates

Lewis;Of all the parts,to restore old saws,I have found the bar plates are the hardest to find.I have made them from the flexible sides of gravity shutes,as used in the auto industry. This material is only slightly thicker than the original plate thickness.and is a spring steel type.To work them, they have to annealed, then formed and then ,rehardened[ very easy to do]If you are not able to find any,in a few weeks, send me a line, and I will send you some of the steel, just pay the postage. Good luck.

Bar Guides:

Hi Al. I am beninning to agree with you. Hard to find. Thought about making them myself. but thought I'd try to get them if they might be still available. The 3 sets I have are chewed up, one guide is missing the bottom wing. Thought about possibly welding a piece to it, but all Ihave is a electric 150 amp welder and a set of tourches. My step son has a ( can't remember for sure) a Mig or Tig type welder and thought that if I made the missing part of the guide he might be able to weld it on. Also one has a cut across it from the chain that possible may be able to be filled in. I'm sure something can be either made or the old ones possibly repaired. Just was thinking of replacing them if possible. Tnanks. Lewis.

Guide Plates:

Mike. the picture of the 600 D guide plate looks like the plate I have on the 600 D. The 600 D plates will interchange with the C-5 and C-51 saws.

Ray thanks for the C-51 part numbers. I was on a site today. If I had the part numbers I could have plugged them in and they would have told me if the parts were available. I'll check tomorrow with them and see if they have them in stock or can order them. I sent them an email, but no reply as yet. Thanks. Lewis.
