Need!! Dual Port 046/MS460 part number

My buddy has an MS460....(can't get out of it's own way)Looking for the Stihl part number for the 046 dual port front cover... Thanks,

1128 140 0801
1128 145 0805

Steve, the part number I gave you is actually for the 044. The 044 and 046 use the same front cover, but for some reason stihl will not sell you the front cover for the 046 without also selling you the muffler itself. The muffler for the 046 is identical to the 044 except the 046 has a very small slot cut in front of the muffler outlet. Go figure.

And for about 20 more bucks total you can get a new muffler from Walkers (modded, of course). I just priced one the other day.

I just got a walkers muffler for my 260. However I wouldnt get one for a 044,046,or a 066 as the the stihl dualport piece looks factory and gives the same boost as the walkers piece without the pipes sticking out. Its a bit cheaper to go the stihl way also.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I better save my money as my 046 has the dual port muffler. It also is very strong. I just got a new 372XP and there is a noticeable difference in power between the two. The 046 is, as you might expect, a bit more powerful, but the 372 is smoother. I love them both!

The dual port cover from syihl is hard to beat. Along with the increase you dont have to deal with any hassle from the forest service or your dealer trying to deny warranty.
