Hello

I had a weeping pink peach tree planted in my yard on June 15th. It was planted by a crew from the nursery it was purchased at. It arrived and I thought it looked pretty dry and bare. The owner of the nursery said it was due to the tree being in its “transition phase”. He told me to water it twice a week which I have been and we are also getting rain here (Ellettsville, Indiana). It seems like the tree is in poor health to me though. I have noticed amber and clear colored sap ports all over the tree trunk and they seem to be putting more sap out on a daily basis. I have attached photographs. Any advise would me much appreciated.

Dying tree, riddled with boring insects and/or canker. They gave you a lemon tree and then planted it poorly.

FYI, peach is a pretty hard species to grow in much of the Midwest.

Thanks. The sad thing is that my wife and I purchased the tree at the end of April when it was in full bloom and it was beautiful. Had pink flowers all over it and there wasn’t any sap present. We are disappointed.

It ain't legal but wrapping the trunks with Sevin dust impregnated burlap strips'll kill whatever kinda boring insect it is bothering yu.

Just add water to the powder till it's like pancake batter, apply it to one side of the burlap strips, wrap it chemical side against the trunk. It'll kill any bug tryin to get in or out.

The run off's toxic to fish.

Don't tell anyone I told yu, ok?

Tree Update: owner will be out in 7-10 days to look at the tree but his initial assessment is that it’s not getting enough water which is bogus because I am following the guidelines he gave me when he planted it.
