The 455 has far too little power for the weight - avoid (haven't used one, and don't want to, the specs alone is enough to stay away from that one).

The 288xp is 87cc, and a very well reputed saw. However, by todays standards, it doesn't have the best power to weight ratio.

I have a 288 that is a little over ten years old,and it will STILL haul..It will hold it's own all day long with the 385 which replaced it.

I had a ported out 288xp, and it hauled ass, I loved that saw, and then I did a stupid thing and sold it:bang: :bang: :bang: cause I had 2 big saws, and sold it to buy a new 345-e, I love that saw equally as much for different reasons though.

The 288xp is wicked, I ran it with a 37" bar and a 28" bar, I loved it best with the 28"
