Need NOS 041AVE Full wrap "handle"

Salutations,

I realize this is a long shot of Happy Gilmore proportions, but if anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it. The 041 has gone through some variations, and finally I've figured out its destiny. It became a AVEQ for a while but the chain brake assy doesn't allow sufficient chip clearing, so off came the entire assy. The 28" bar went on so the 046 could utilize the 20". It's current iteration is a falling saw for now, ergo: full wrap handle. If the heated model with wet bar is sitting on someones shelf somewhere, all the better.

[apologies, it almost could be construed I'm looking for an entire saw, I only wish for the full wrap handle for my exisiting saw]

Please send pics to [email protected] and whatever price you desire. Used articles are fine providing the rubber is in good shape. I can paint the metal portions and install a new buffer which is Stihl available.

TIA,

C-

Now Doug, don't be stirring up trouble between BG and I.
BG, if you really have your heart set on a full wrap, I could give you two half wraps instead.

Gypo,

I enjoy simplicity, and when I set up a task I do so as efficiently as I can. This way I obtain the desired results with a minimal effort. This frees me to allow my mind and feelings wander to appreciate the moment while remaining fixedly focused.

Most don't apply this rudementary artistic philosophy, which I learned long ago, into their work. It is found more often when we play, and admittedly the entire process of wood management I find pleasurable.

When you fall a tree, so many senses come to bear. Pride in mechanical precision, chips flying in the sunlight, the smells and sounds of the saw. I could go on and on but I'm often made fun of, when attempting to describe my sensitivity level to various things. I'll never be rich in a monetary sense, but my riches are sourced from the places most people never look. The next time you're deep in the woods somewhere with any sounds around, make the time to wonder about how you came to be where you are and why you're there.

Sorry for that bit of romanticism, but I need the full wrap handle to stay on the same side of the tree to face it up, and apply the back cut. I recently bought a book on tree falling because I'm not good at it. It explains the usage of the sight lines on a saw which I never knew it had before. I thought they were just asthetics.

So do you know where I can get one? cbfarmall posted a very helpful link to cheapstihlparts but right now he doesn't have one. Maybe soon?

Golly Gee Lamebert will you stop bothering her. The whole time we were out wes all John talked about was BG. He wanted to show her how to lay big wood.

As for enjoying the surrounds I love it. There is nothing like being in one of my sneak boxes out on the bay watching the sun rise, decoys floating in the waves. Then a few toots on the duck call AHHH that's so relaxing. But when the duck show the sky busting overides all that.

Hello BG, I had one of those days today that you described so eloquently. Where everything flows and all senses are intact.
The more I buy timber the more I like it, as my job is all encompassing. For some reason the times I enjoy the most are the times I am alone in the woods, but that's just one small segment of my job. One part that I enjoy is paying the woodlot owner, sometimes more than what I originaly said it was worth on the stump. Doing things I like in a professional manner is what makes me feel good. Such as when I run race saws in Calif. lol.
Anyway, since you have your heart set on the full wrap, try Walkers Saw Shop in Naniamo B.C., and tell them I sent you.

Sorry, I forgot the pic. This is the skid trail into the woodlot I completed today. It yielded 2200 ft. of veneer and 6000 ft. of sawlogs. I was in the same woodlot just 4 years ago and took out 10,000 ft.
