I'd like to build another Husky L77 out of my big pile of parts. However, to build another, I need a piston, and can't find one, been looking a long time. There are plenty of 52mm pistons available, the 180-480 series Huskys all use the same 52 mm cylinder as the L77. But there is a catch. These 52mm pistons and cylinders came in 4 slightly different diameters, ranging from size A to D. The letters are stamped on the tops of both the cylinders and the pistons so you can match them. My 52mm size "C" cylinder has some miles on it but is perfectly useable, and the manual recommends using a new piston size "D" in this situation. All I can find online are the smallest sized versions of the piston, and they call it part number 501 25 04-06, which works only for A or B size cylinders. I found out the hard way, ordered one and had to return it. What I need is part number 501 25 04-05, the "D" size. I've been searching ebay and other suppliers for a long time and no luck, everybody only seems to have the small piston. The reasonably priced L77 parts saws I've seen on ebay so far all seem to have poor compression listed or they won't guarantee a good piston for me. Stands to reason for an old saw like that. Any ideas about where else to look?
