Anybody know where i can get replacement (new or good used) skirts for my 1981(?) 665a stump grinder?

I'm guessing I can order them from vermeer but are there any other vendors who carry them or does anyone have a salvage machine with good skirts on it that they would sell and ship to me?

Here in Kenosha Wisconsin there is a belting company that has all size belting. Its all used belting at different thicknesses. I replace the stock shielding with heavy duty stuff. Works great!

In my city their is a company called Polar Rubber. They supply vac hoses and rubber belts and large rolls of rubber of every type. For grinding skirts you need the semi soft rubber that has been threaded for strength. I just took a sample of my old skirts and they matched it up. I bought a 4 foot roll about 25 or 30 feet long and cut my own.

I used to buy the rubber by the foot at a local rubber company. Very easy to make. A lot cheaper than VERMEER. Good Luck

thanks for the info. I have no idea how long my current skirts have lasted. I bought the machine used a couple years ago. They were already shot at that point. Now, they're really really shot.
