need some good paint for my 041.....

hello i was just curious who makes a good paint and were to get it to restore my old o41,s i want the color to be pretty close does anyone know of anything ?? thanks

Krylon just came out w/new spray paint for plastic furniture that's
guaranteed to adhere because it bonds the surface.Look at one of the
big d.i.y stores,I know home depot has it.

I've bought factory Stihl spray paint at my dealer. Spray paint is spray paint, so if you're hitting the show 'n shine circuit you may look for something from USA paints or something like that.

In that case, I think spray paint would work fine. Just make sure it dries sufficiently between coats, and do your prep work, and it'll be better than nothing. But remember that it'll pale in comparison with the factory finish, which is probably baked on and is far tougher than spray paint.

Evansville huh? I'm a fellow Hoosier myself. Originally from Leavenworth on the Ohio R., I graduated high school in Plymouth, just south of South Bend, up by the MI border.

Has anyone tried powder coating a saw? will it hold up against the gas and oil? at one time I was thinking of trying to bring some of the old McC's back to life and was thinking of doing a powder coat rather than a paint but was never sure if it would hold up against the fuel and oil on it.

powbercoating will hold up to anything but sandblasting !!! its good stuff !!

biga- You know where Leavenworth is? C'mon, no one knows where Leavenworth is!! I've spent alot of time in Evansville. A buddy of mine went to USI a while back.

And I agree about powder coating. It's the way to go if the project's clearances allow it.

The engine paint at walmart really goes on good and comes out shiny .Its pretty tough as far as spray paint goes.

You can also take saw or closes match to Sherwin Williams and they will
color match it to any auto color and compress it in spray cans.Lowest
price I got was $17 for quart that made 2cans plus 1 pint can for touchup.
total was about $24 and I used it on a 1926 T-Bucket Roadster (showcar).

I was raised in Ky. as well in Greenup just above where Fish is.
