I sincerely regret having to tell you this, but there's no one in Pennsylvania that knows anything about chainsaws.

You'll need to ship your saws to Tennessee, where a team of highly-educated primates works on saws when not serving
as test subjects for anti-VD drugs.

If I knew how to add your quote to the bottom of my posts I would. Funniest thing I have read here in a long time !

Dohh! I knew it. Does the USPS have a special chainsaw rate like they have a media rate?

Repped for using the search function.

Have you removed the limiter caps on the carb? If not, you may not have enough adjustment to get the saw to four stroke.

No. It wasnt clear to me whether I needed to do that on an un-MM'd saw, so I decided to wait til I could find someone to help in person that knew what they were doing.

I'm in South Jersey and am willing to come over and give ya a hand just make sure you have some wood to cut that's the only true way to tune the tach only gets you close.

Not to discourage you from going to see Dozerdan, but I think you will have much more luck in tuning by ear once you remove the limiter caps and trim the tabs off of them.

Justin, pm "Albert" if you can. He's near doylestown, one of the best around a wrench and saw. I'm close to hunterdon county ifn ya get this way I'm not that far and would help. Got a tach some wood and an ear.

Will do. Doylestown is not far at all.

I am more then willing to help you out but I am 3 hours (155 mile) from you. I am 60 mile N West of Harrisburg. If a few of you guys that need help and want to get together and bring your saws. I will spend about half a day with you to help you out.

Later
Dan

I would love to take a trip out that way, but I dont think I can fit in a trip that long right now. Thanks though!

That's what I understood. Also, a tach isnt much good once you open up the muffler, right?

I'll be at my shop tonight after 630 if your around I'm just 10 mins north on 113

Ooh. My wife tutors 'til 7, and I've got to watch out little guy until she's done, but I might be able to stop over after that. Let me check in with The Keeper Of The Schedule and get back to you.

Woo hoo! Thanks to help from hoeyrd2110, got my MS390 tuned. Had to remove the limiter caps. Also got my 192T tuned, but it's still acting weird. After giving it full throttle and then letting off, it doesnt immediately drop to idle. Instead the rpms drop slowly over a second or two. Starting a new thread on that here:

Thanks everyone who responded and offered help!

Who is this Albert? I know this is an old post but I need 3 or 4 saws looked at. I’m only 20 minutes from Doylestown so any information on Albert would be awesome

Thanks
Andrew
