I could agree with that. A lot of them do and they usually don’t last long. I’m not new to the tree business I’ve been climbing and cutting off and on for some years. Now. And have customers I’ve been dealing with for a long time I’ve never just made the jump to full time. I don’t dream of getting rich. I enjoy climbing and cutting. Trees. I love hard work and know it’s a hard road to tow. I’m a little ole country boy that grew up working on farms. I do good cutting on the side and making money. And even climbing for a few other locals from time to time.

I don’t want to be a here today and gone tomorrow tree service. I want to be a lasting service. And it’s taking much thought and planning.

Well you see one thing I’ve learned in life Sometimes I get fought up and think I’m 20 and have to prove myself to the world. But in reality I don’t have to you see I know what I can do and what I’m capable. If my word ain’t good enough then hey it’s cool I understand. But I don’t have to prove myself. If you want to see how bout come on down heck I’ll give you a place to crash for a week a month and work to line your pockets. Then you can say you seen it first hand. And no room for photo shop. Lol

Lol y’all all crazy. Shoot I carry 3 to 4 hundred pound pipes on my shoulders up ladders all day long I out work most 20 year olds around me. Climb and cut on weekends. I might be older but I come from the old school. The way most y’all talk is after 30 you might as well give it all up life is over. Lol shoot viagra probably wouldn’t help most of you.

Lifting 400# pipes up a ladder. Man, that must be some ladder, I don't know of any rated for 600# (assuming you're about 200).

I would sure hate to pay your worker comp bills, because you must have a ton of guys off with bad backs. Especially considering the OSHA standard is 50# before you're supposed to start looking for other work methods.

I ain't saying bull$hit but I'm highly suspicious the 400# label is exaggerated.

Yeah, sucks to have “missed the boat”, so to speak, but I agree, leave the tree service starting to the younger folks.

Ok let’s fix something here it’s 400 lbs across 21 foot of pipe carried up two trestle ladders one at the front of the pipe and one at the rear. Carried by two people. The ladders are rated depending upon class and what type they are. Class one fiber glass starting at 300 lb. we far exceed these weights all the time. This particular ladder is a class one maximum height is 18 foot up the trestle plus your body height.

Go or it Joe. 42 isn't old, it's only old if you feel old. Be sure to get a good helper or two. You can always fall back on what you're doing now if things don't go as planned.

Its a grind for sure deffianly look at all the angles before you take the plunge. Retirement, insurance, equipment costs, employe workman com, etc. Lots to think about. Good luck in what ever you do.

Thanks Stihl man I’m in the process of buying up equipment now. Retirement well I haven’t got that where I’m at now. So that’s a factor too
