On the 300 series huskies, does the sprocket need to be removed to lube the needle bearings or is that what the hole in the center of the sprocket is for. I have a 353 and a friend of mine has a 372 (in case the model # is needed)

Mike has a point although not all of the "300" series as you have grouped them have this feature. The 372 is one example where the conical depression in the end of the crank is nothing more than that, a conical depression.

In terms of pushing dirt through, I wouldn`t worry about it. Just clean the orifice first to minimize the amount and then pump enough to flush the bearing. Clutch bearings have fairly large clearances to clear debris and work at low speeds in a dirty environment anyway.

So what is the procedure for lubing it? How often is it needed?
