Neighbor cut down some cedars!

Was walking with the wife and saw the neighbor had some Red Cedars cut down. I was back in 10 min with a saw and my skid steer. Red cedars are hard to come by here in Chesapeake. In 4 years I've cut down 2 and someone in the family always wants the logs. SCORE!

You going to dry it first right ? What thickness did you mill them at ?

I made these for a rescue squad up north out of Honduran mahogany. I liked them so much I almost kept them. I've been wanting to make another one for me, but a little smaller. Haha.

Oh yeah. I'll try a couple boards in a dehu kiln and see how they do. If it's no bueno I'll let it air dry. I cut the first log at 1" boards.

I see some of the logs had growth twists, did it affect the slab when milled out?

Haven't milled the other 3 yet, so we'll see. There are some awesome looking boards just in that first one. I'm excited to see how the others turn out.
