I bought a brand new 200t from a local store about a week ago and immediately brought it to my engine guy to mod it. He put a custom dual port muffler and removed the screen, adjusted the carbs and made it scream. Did my first job with it a few days ago and it rips. Just a bad ass saw. I'm doing a large take down tomorrow and really looking forward to it. I can't wait to get it broken in. I've been using 019's, 192t's and Husky 334t's my whole career so to use this saw is just a step up in the game. Should have spent the money a long time ago. It is crazy how you get comfortable with what you know and then when you step out of your box you realize how much you have been missing.

How many hours before it is fully broken in?

That saw rips without any mods. Since it was your first time using one, you should have waited till you at least broke it in before wasting your money modding it. Not to mention you could have done everything your engine guy did yourself, for free.

You did fine modding it right away, not a problem besides voiding the warranty.

I have 3 and should still buy another because they are just that good.

Didn't say it was bad, just that it made absolutely no sense :)

Wow, I never thought to modify a 200t... We use, have, and have built many fine mod saws. My mechanic says they are fine right out of the box. We do pull the screen, install a 12 - 14 inch bar and let it rip. They are a funny saw, in 15 years of cutting I still have number 1, 2, & 3. I use them regularly. Probably one of the best saws made in all of it's forms.

If you can make it better, why wouldn't you? You call it a waste, I call it a brand new 200 with a nice set of mods to it. To each his own.

Yes sir you are correct. But As you stated, you never ran one before, and I have a 334T, and it's a little kids saw. So I liken it like this. You've been driving a pinto your entire life, and walk into the ford dealer one day and buy a new GT500, but before you take delivery of it, you slap a 150 shot of nitrous on it.... You don't even have a base line to go off of from stock to hot. So how do you know if it made the saw any better? I see that as a waste.

Hey arborpros, congrats on your new purchase. If I recall correctly, I believe you are supposed to run a tank of mix through the saw at idle to break it in. Check your manual as I am pretty sure it is in there.

As for modding the saw, sounds like you have a hot running saw that will make those removals go quickly. Like you said, to each his own. Just remember, there is always going to be some jackass on here that tells you that you did it wrong just because you didn't do it his way :D Ignore guys like that, and go make some money with that new saw!

So I'm a jack ass. You are obviously a complete moron if you're judging me that way by what I wrote. Looks like we have a new internet tough guy on board gentleman! Why don't you use your brain, and word your response so you don't come off like an inflamatory idiot next time, or follow your own advice and just ignore the "jack ass". We don't need a cockmaster like you around here.

lol, sensitive little feller aren't ya? I don't see anywhere in my post where I referenced you, but maybe you can show me where I was referring to you?

For the record, I was making a generalization, but I would be happy to offer you an apology when you can show me how I was talking about you specifically.

Hey Arborpros I have been running the husky and stihl top handles side by side (334 amd 200t) I have not heard of the dual port muffler for a 200t so it would be great if you could post a few pictures with some more details about the mods done.
Thanks in advance
Scrat

it looks to me like this guy has been here about three years longer than you. he probably doesnt have as many posts because he doesnt spout off every time he gets a chance like some internet bully. i would like to see if any of the gentlemen you are reffering to have anything to say.

Or he could just be an internet troll that likes to derail threads like a a certain doosh is trying to do right now, by changing the subject. But I don't think that was the case here. Perhaps he was speaking in general as he said. So if you want to hea from the "gentleman that I speak of" start another thread in the "I am a total doosh" section, (where you belong) and get some feed back there ;-) Now, it's off to work I go!

The guys at the shop said there was no break in needed but if there was supposed to be that sucks because I did not do it. Saw runs great. Did a big removal today with it and it rips. On a whole different level than the other saws I own. I am very happy with the purchase and the mods.

Glad you're enjoying the saw. I am more of a penny pinching business man first, then a "tree guy". I meant no direct offense in my previous postings.

No problems man. I try not to let things get to me. Have you been using a 200t for a while? Any tips or tricks or things that are known to break on them that I should keep an eye on? Seems like a solid little saw.

You have yet to show me where I referred to you in any way in my first post. Also, how was my first post a derail? Did I not congratulate him on his purchase and make a recommendation for breaking in his new Stihl chainsaw? How is that a derail, please explain that one.

I noticed that in your reply to my first post (where I made no mention or reference to you), you quickly assumed that I was speaking about you, and then began hurling insults at me referring to me as an "inflammatory idiot" (fixed the spelling for you! :) ) and also referred to me as an "internet tough guy" and a "cockmaster". I have also noticed that you are calling another poster a "douche" (ftfy too) for no real good reason. What I am saying is that I think we have found who the real troll is. I do not know you, but so far you have come across as a nasty, short tempered, and overall angry person. May I make a suggestion? Try not be so sensitive when someone is not talking about you. As some of the guys around here have said in the past, you need thick skin to hang around this place. I read your profile real quick and saw that you are a former burned out restaraunt manager. Perhaps if tree work does not work out for you, I hear that McDonald's is hiring. From what I have seen of your personality, it appears that it might be good fit?

I'll be waiting for my apology for all those nasty names you called me.....:hmm3grin2orange:

Umm, I've learned that once the carb gets really out of adjustment, either due to a fall, or getting banged around in general, the saw will still run, but won't run well no matter how you tune it.. I replaced a carb, about 100 for the part in one of the three that I own this season cuz we just couldn't get the OEM carb dialed just right. Oh, and I run 16's on all mine too. Pulls fine, and makes a diff when you don't want to haul up a 346 or something similar.

It's an awesome saw, and they aren't being made anymore, so it should hold it's value well. I just ordered a 201T after having demo'd it, but I'd rather of had another 200T instead.
