Menchhofer, looks like a sweet truck.Looks like you have an orange army there behind your truck. I work for the big orange and we have a 70 foot high ranger. The reach is awesome!you will find that you will use the elevator more that you thought. It makes your set-up location way more forgiving. It took awile for us to learn not to set up so close to the trees. We did a very large uprooted boxelder last summer that was in the back yard. we were able to set up in the driveway and reach over the house to do the entire tree. You will not be dissapointed. With payments like that you need to land some contract work. Citys, road commission contracts, golf courses, etc. Year round stuff!

N-I-C-E piece of equipment.

It's the elevator, man...

Don't have one here, but plan to later this year. After using one a few times last year, I agree with topnotch- the maneuverability is wicked.

Now, what you gotta do is walk up to the truck, go up to the door, and kick it. Yep! Kick it as hard as you can. This way here, you get over the newness, and won't be so broken hearted when it gets its first scratch.

Just kidding.

:D

I am hoping the rear set up will make it easier to work with and less likely to damage the forward section of the truck. With the lower boom now being able to go past vertical 120 degrees it should make it even better.

I still plan on doing my best to keep it in the best condition possible for as long as possible.

Thanks for eveyone's comments and thoughts.;)

Menchhofer has this baby gone into service yet?

thats one beautifull peice of kit ,shes got too be more productive than climbing and she wont be ill or need holidays.or have a bad day ,im looking a buying a bucket its a nissan cabstar 21meter height £35000 3.5 ton gross vehicle

Yes the bucket is "in service." I had some minor changes made to the cab guard and auxillary hydraulic connections.

I have used it a few times and I have meant to take some pics but forgot about it until I was on the job. The height and side reach are very nice. I think I am in love. If I do think about it next time I will post some pictures......

nice tower like the design is it a two man bucket?i leased a 40 ft versalift mounted on the rear of a hino 10 tonner with single bucket although a little short it was a great quick set up with hydraulic saw for power line work.

Yes, bucket has been out a few times. I just keep forgetting to get pics...I will try to remember

nice tower

that tower will be great for your work but even better as advertising make sure you park it in a visible spot, how many people getting qoutes ask will you bring the big truck i get asked alot

Been using new bucket everyday....almost.

Had outrigger hose break one day and took truck to Altec..they fixed it on the spot.

Another day the boom quit working several times. Altec came to job site and could not figure out problem...

The other day we were working along the road and had moved the truck several times. The last time it would not start. Spent 1/2 waiting for wrecker. Took it to dealer and have yet to find out what was wrong. Suppose to pick it up next week. Only lost a few days with it being down. Suppose best all of this happens while it is under warranty.

So is a couple months in the life of an arborist w/new equipment.

By the way, my older truck (15 years old) was Never down..... go figure. Anyway, it is still awesome and I still find I am doing work I could not do with the 55 footer....still love it.

City bought same rig and have had a few problems with leaking hoses and sticking controls. Used it the first time myself to repair some flags downtown. After using hi ranger have to get used to Altec controls, they are backward from hi ranger. 70' reach is awesome though, old rig was only 60'.
