Hey my grampa has a black and Decker electric saw and the jaw saw he loves both of them. The black and Decker he uses them all the time over at his land. This is also the man that cuts about 15 20 ft flat bed loads of woods a year with his 036.

i use an old craftsman electric with manual oiler in the backyard when im burning brush...neighbors dont like the MS460 noise apparently.

If you were doing trail clearing in a wilderness area where no power equipment is allowed it would certainly beat a hand saw. I think Zogger has used one similar to this and gave it favorable reviews.

pretty convincing on the husky top handle!! I wonder how long a battery lasts vs a tank of fuel. Also what the live span of the motor/battery...and replacement cost.

I can see the benefits of no fuel, sound etc. But until they eliminate bar oil you still need to stop and fill up periodically.

Any tree guys out there want to explain to this firewood hack the purpose of the double notch when he drops the top at about 3:40? Maybe just showing off, I dunno, but it made me wonder.

That fella looked like he had some skills for sure.

I was thinking the tree was getting pretty spindly as he went up. When he made those double falling cuts it gave the top 2 hinges, and it seemed to fall without so much as shaking the tree. Certainly I'm not an expert at climbing, but that is my observation. I prefer to top trees when they are already on the ground.:givebeer:

The double notch gives it a chance to swing much lower than the normal 90° so it drops downward rather than away from the tree.
