I just got some new gloves I am going to try out. I wonder if they'll be any good.

Bought from Grainger, $3/pr, rubber seems porous (breathable, but will wear away faster?), The white part is like a spandex. The are thinner than all other smurf gloves I've tried. If the rubber coating holds up, I might end up liking these a lot!

They look nice Nick let know how they work out for ya. Personally I'd like to know if the rubber peels off and gets caught up in your hitch. Thats my biggest problem those type of gloves. Just when you swing and burn down some rubber will peel and clog your knot. You come to a quick hault and swing back hard. Thats not good. I just don't like looking like an idiot when it happens.

Houston, we have a problem

You're not going to be giving us rave reviews, Nick, for a clear reason. Your hands are swimming in those gloves. They're too big. You can't have your hands flopping around inside a glove and expect to get good results with it. Those gloves are sized for a Sasquatch.

I started using those gloves last winter, I think their are two grades, one for winter, one for summer use. The heavier gloves are excellent for winter climbing, unless the wind is really blowing hard, the wind will go right through them and your hands get cold, mine do anyway because I have loggers fingers, other than that they kept my hands nice and warm.

They have excellent grip on ropes and for holding limbs, hand saw work, and for handling a chain saw in a tree. I have gotten more wear for the money than any other similar type gloves.

They won't hold up if your doing rigging and limb lowering, wears the rubber out quick if you let a rope run thru them, not to mention the heat build up.

I think I paid close to six bucks for a pair of winter grade at a contractors store, they were the only ones who had them in town. Well worth the money in my opinion, I stocked up on them for the coming winter.

Get the Black Atlas ones they have thicker rubber, non insulated they last a week and thats with running a Hobbs/Winch a couple times a week. And John they dont burn into the hitxch as bad either.

EXCELLENT POSTS as one says.

Here are Butch's uglys. In the Winter you can wear a superthin thermal liner under them.

The way I buy em in bulk, they cost about 70 to 80 cents a pair, and they last a lot longer than I ever thought they would.

Lots of companies are making (or merely marketing) those bricklayers gloves anymore.

These gloves ARE a tiny big. I tried on the medium and the fingers were too short, like I had webbed hands or something.

I am interested in how the rubber holds up. I get good use out of the blue Atlas gloves. I can get 2-3 weeks of climbing out of them.

Look at yours and see where they are wearing the most. Chances are it's along side the pointer finger on the hand that you use to control the hitch while descending. I see this in a lot of people. They hold the hitch with half their pointer finger, then the middle, ring and pinky. If you hold JUST the hitch, you can't get rubber caught in your hitch.

Once I figured that out, it's been smooth sailing.

You can also try Galeton Gloves if you want to try some different types of work gloves. I'll link to some of the coated gloves.

What's nice is you can call and order a sample of the cheaper gloves (usually the ones sold in dozens) and try a few different sizes before ordering.

I've been ordering through them for years and have always been happy with their products and service.

Hey, a good woman always does.;) My gloves came in today. $75 total for 8 dozen pair = 78 cents a pair. I should get 12 to 18 months outta em.

 Thanks guys!

Nathan, I hope you have as much luck with their gloves as I have. Never thought of them as a life altering experience....but glad I could help. :D

I bought these early this spring, I think. I don't know how they compare to other anti-vibe gloves....but they sure LOOK cool:
