That splitter in the video is very interesting. Smooth and quiet. He’s splitting pretty easy wood it looks like; I wonder is it as good on tough pieces? And that is a big motor.
Looks like 22o volts and about 5 to 6 hp. It seems to have more grunt than many cone splitters that use gas lawnmower engines. Yes, that wood looks to be easy to split, likely the same as soft maple or tree of heaven. I doubt it would do that well with some of the elm or ash I've been wrestling with lately. And, the logs are rather small and short. What intrigues me the most is the simplicity -- one 220v motor, one table, two belts, two pulleys, two pillow blocks, a drive shaft, a coupler, and a cone. That plus a few bolts is about all there is. Maintenance might be bare bones and a gear motor would get rid of the pulleys and belts.
