recently got my 036 back from danny henry. i used to tote my 044 throught the woods all day. my forearms were done in 5 hours or so. so i had dan work on my 036, previosly i wouldnt even think of hiking in with that saw. it was totally stock and wouldnt run for squat. last week i finished a water line easement at 10,500', had to walk in the whole way, about a mile, and up 1500 vertical. now the saw cuts great. not quite the torque of an 044, but close enough. it is now my favorite woods saw, unless i am cutting nothing but over 20" trees. i dont know what dan did exactly, but it sure works good. thanks dan

That is where I think saw modifications really shine. You have the performance of a much bigger saw in a lighter package. Take the money you save by a smaller saw and buy the modifications. The special occasions when you come up against a similar but unmodified saw make it really sweet!
