Wanted to share what I picked up from a neighbor the other day. :msp_thumbup:
It was in his family and he remembers his grandfather cutting firewood with it as well as using it himself. It is froze currently. Those are babbit bearings naturally, considering the age of it.
I am soaking the bearing caps in WD. I figure I'll have it sandblasted too.
I want to run it eventually,maybe off a hit/miss engine.
Anyway, these are the before photos.
If anyone can add anything regarding it,please do.

It's neat and the history is cool but it's also homebuilt and pretty flimsy. Looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Yeah,, part of the frame is definitely rigged. I know the blade and shaft go together or I'm pretty sure they do. I'm hoping to weld some more to the frame and takeoff the crappy, bolted on pieces. I just want to run it as a demonstration at shows, definitely not for day to day use. It's surprisingly heavy and took 3 of us to get it on and off the pickup.
Thanks for the reply, :smile2::smile2:
