well i just orderd a rayco rg13 series ll..it should be here tommorow..i needed a small light weight narrow grinder due to the stupid size gardens and garden gates we have overhere [iv'e been giving too much work/stumps away to the oppasition] ..i hope it preforms ok even though it lacks HP it should be able to manage stumps upto 24 inches i hope:confused:

this new machine will compliment the 252 which beleive it or not is considerd a fairly big machine overhere..the new grinder being light will be able to be transported to the job site at the same time as the chipper etc saving more time and money i hope

i know a few of you on here have simaler size machines and most seem pleased with theres, but if anyone else has any comments good or bad i'm all ears .P.S I KNOW THIS MACHINE WILL CUT A T A SNAILS PACE BUT IF IT CUTS OK THEN I'LL BE VERY HAPPY:D

Ive used it and the baby Vermeer.
You can do up to 4 ft and the reason I say up to is that it was so hard that I will never attempt it again and won't know if it will go larger.
Make sure you use two guys or plan to be useless for a day
They are great machines and worth the investment but make sure you at least double your stump rate when useing the little guys for large stumps
Good Luck with your new toy

Rayco RG13 II

I own one and use it alot. I pick up a lot of jobs because I can go where the competition can't. It is fast if you keep the teeth sharp. Grease the grinder's shaft daily, keep the belts tight and don't get too deep in a cut or it can kick very hard and the handle bar will hit you in the knees. True, grinding all day with it is a heavy workout, but I don't do that every day either.

hi well it arrived this morning in a wooden crate just had to put the handle together and attach the brake..i shall be using it on frieday and will post some pics of it in action..so far im pleased with it the engine is low on HP but i think it will serve my purpose..preach i will watch the knees :D...john i hope i never have to do a 4 ft stump with it,if i do it will be because i can't get the 252 to the stump so the customer will have to pay premium £££s

oh well heres a report on my new grinder..sorry no pics yet

well it cuts realy well i would say it cuts as good as an rg 20 i should know i had one for 3 years .this little stumper has rayco super teeth on it my old rg 20 didn't it had finger teeth so maybe good cutting is down to teeth and not HP i'm not sure

one major problem with this stumper is the lack a drive system man it's hard going pushing this machine over soft lawn and repositioning over your stump, why the heck couldn't rayco fit a little hydrostatic drive system to this machine beats me..anyway i solved the problem with positioning over a stump i simply put plywood around the stump and this makes the pushing about a lot easier

i bought the machine for getting to hard to reach stumps that we have overhere i could have bought a 25hp self propelled machine that was 25 inches wide but this machine was £3,500 [$1.85 to the pound you guys can do the math] dearer so i whent for the cheaper option

p.s i ground out a 15 inch cypress stump in well under 10 mins

Hey Roller
If you keep it sharp it will serve you good!:)
I had to do that large one with it because it had no acess!
It will do what ever you want.
We just switch off on large stumps so we don't kill each other!
The big thing to remember is to charge well on large stuff because it will really kill you on labour if you don't
Enjoy!
