my 23 yr old husky 2100 has earned a retirement plan, so i broke down and got the monster of huskys line ,

anything i should do to her?? muffler mod?

its a nice saw and i don't mind leaving it stock buti f a simple mod will help , y not, i say

who has this saw? what do u think ?:rockn:

I have owned four of them. They are rev-limited and have a fixed high speed jet. If you muffler mod one, the high speed jet will need to be drilled out. They are a good saw, if you need some extra power. Warning: a dressed-out one with a 36" bar weighs about forty pounds fueled and ready to go.

Wow, I sure hope you have a 394/395/390/385 or something to cover for the 2100. The 3120 is a whole different animal. Essentially a thermonuclear device for cutting trees.

Worst case scenario, you will be buying another saw.

If I owned one, in signature line:
3120 - thermonuclear tree cutting device (courtesy oldsaw).

Provides one fine mental picture here.

I like my 088 Stihl better than I do my 3120...I am pretty sure I'll be selling that 3120 soon.
Why? Adjustable HS jet and higher rpms would be the only issues, right?

No....The 3120 no doubt feels much heavier, and the handlebar positioning on the 088 is much more comfortable for me..My 3120 is brand new so it's one of the "restricted" models. If I keep it,I'm going to change that..But while both in stock form,my 088 out cuts my 3120.
