I just picked up my new 338XPT. I wanted to ask the "Husky" guys a question. My foreman/climbing teacher has an older 338XPT which I have used (hence my reason for wanting one). His gas and oil caps both have the recess for the scrench. Mine only has the recess on the gas cap. My question is, if any of you have one of the older 338's and one of the new....have you noticed a weight or balance difference. I picked mine up for the first time today and to me it felt heavier than his. Maybe it's my mind. Thanks in advance.

One thing that comes to mind right off the bat, is do they have the same bar length?

Same amount of fuel in the tank, etc.?

A lot of people bash the 335 XPT, but I have had good luck with mine thus far.

Enjoy the new saw!:blob2:

hey
I have 2- 335's and two 338's both seam two be the same weight.

But if you take them apart there is m ore metal there on the 338's tha on the latter.
as well there is that purge ball so those two things may sdd up to be some more weight but not very noticable.

As for reliabllty the 338's are doing great.

they even fixed the spark plug cover with a bolt that goes throught the cover and into the body of the tank. the husky rep.at tci in detriot showed me .

I am sticking with it so far. love the balance and power, can't beat it..
