New Member Intro

Howdy folks,

My name's Ian and I'm new to the forum. I'm a mechie in connecticut, and new to the finer points of chainsaw repair and restoration.

I picked up two saws off craigslist, a Poulan Pro 295 and a Stihl 020 AV.

The Poulan is for my father, gonna clean it up and do the muffler mod on it.

The Stihl is for me, my plan is to do a full teardown and resto, put some fresh paint on it.

Haven't tried to start either yet, saving it for tonight when I have some time after work. Anybody have experiences with either saw they'd like to share, or advice for an aspiring restoration guy?

Yep, the chainsaw forum has "make" specific sub forums. We mostly talk about milling and some mods. Welcome to the club.
