New 395XP, new Granberg C2 36" Mill, new EzRails, new user.

Got it all set up, set it to a 3" cut made it about 6 " and cut through the aluminum bolts that adjust the rails. Wasn't sure what the jerk was as I had just got it on the rails then I saw the spike that holds the rails pop up and I knew.

I finished the cut(at 4") and it has a nice smooth finish, speed was ok. Can't wait to try it with a sharp chain!

Boatman,

Bummer dude. I'll bet that really ticked you off. Did one of the clamping bolts come loose that allowed the blade to cut through the bolt? I'll bet that fresh chain just cut right through that bolt pretty slick. Hope you didn't hurt the chain much... :-(

What kind of log were you milling, looks pretty nice.

Attempting to mill Black(red)Oak in that picture. Nothing slipped, it cut right where I set it. Measured and everything, at the end of the log. Didn't look down the log to notice.

There are holes for the adjusting bolts closer to the center of the guide rail too, for small logs. I'll use those next time. Barely any damage to the chain.

Tomorrow I will be felling a Cherry and an Oak, tops for firewood logs to the Lucas mill.

There is also a 24" white Oak log siting behind the shop that I will tackle with the chainsaw mill.

Best to make these mistakes at home.

Just sitting here reviewing the day in my head.

I measured from the bottom of the guide rail, instead of the top.
