It is a trailered mill that the wheels can be removed so it can be let down close to the ground so logs could be rolled on with a peavey if you didn't have any kind of equipment to load them with.

The design is like the procut plans that are for sale on there website. This one will handle a wider piece of wood and I came up with my own axle design for removal.

How is your rail system set up how does the height adjustment on the saw work and the removable axle I've wanted to fix something portable myself I've finally got the saw and had it ported I like the looks of your setup and would like to use some of your ideas if you don't mind pics would be nice if you have them

I will try to post some pictures of all of that tomorrow night.

The rail system is angle iron on top of the frame tubing and the carriage for the saw has four steel v-belt idler pulleys for the rollers.

The height adjustment works by a chain and sprocket and threaded rod that the saw and bar mount are on. One turn of the handle raises or lowers 1/4" , four turns per inch.

The wheels are not really on an axle but just the spindle welded to the square tube mount. I thought it would be too awkward to handle them on an axle and this way if you just want to remove the side you are sawing from you can.

This is how it goes. I just have it leaning against it here, but they bolt on with five bolts and the nuts are welded to the frame so I don't worry about loosing them.

I also made the tongue of the trailer removable. Thought it might be nice to take it out instead of tripping over while working. It slides through the square tube and is held in with a hitch pin.

Looking good!

I'm curious why you went with a chainsaw when you have the bed capable of holding a bandsaw?

Theirs a lot more to building a bandsaw and it's hard to build one that would cut as wide as the chain saw mill will. I am mostly interested in sawing wide slabs. Plus I already had a chainsaw.

002.JPG Nice mill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I built one also last year. Lot of fun huh? This is a pic in the building stage. I built a wood bunk just so I could saw. I didn't have any plans so I was trying to figure how high I wanted the bunks...
