I have a new porty 2 (the larger one)I believe.. brand spanking new....never used. It has been sitting in the cabinet for 2-3 years. I am finally getting rid of it. If I remember, it has a 3/4 loopie or whoopie sling with it. Again, both are new..never been on a tree.

I have not checked shipping charges. If anyone would like it, make me an offer. thanks

Purchased GRCS after I bought the porty...kind of made it obsolete if ya know what I mean.

Alright. Now you have no back-up, or good secondary roping point.

As good as the GRCS is, and sooner rather than later I will get one, I would not give up my Porta Wrap. The GRCS is just too heavy and time consuming to set up for simple lowering. I would keep it.

Gee, now you guys have got me thinking.

I will retract some previous statements I made. I have had the GRCS about 2 years now and had the Porty about 1-2 years prior, never using it. I have used GRCS quite often and have never considered using the Porty-ever.

Should I keep it for a backup? Probably a good question. As a secondary roping point? Another good question. :)

I am not too sure on this one. GRCS takes only minutes to set up and given the fact if you only plan on lowering limbs with it, just having the unit there on the tree when "that one (or two or three) limb(s)" gets stuck or otherwise needs to be raised for whatever reason, it is reassuring to know it can be done within seconds instead of using alternate methods requiring additional time and effort. :)

Yeah, but you already spent the money, so you have it. It's there for if you need 2 lowering devices in the future.

I'd also keep it, there have been many times we have had to use two porta wraps, mostly for storm damaged trees in tight spots . Besides that, what is costing you to keep it, there are no moving parts to wear out and have to fix like a truck or a saw. Who knows maybe some day you will have two crews going, the second crew is going to need something to work with.

Steve-
How much did you have in mind? Have been looking to purchase one, but need for other equipment has put it on the backburner. Might be able to re-arrange some funds if price is right. (abbreviated version--I'm broke, but if it's going cheap I might be able to swing it. :) ) Thanks!
