What is that contraption on the side of the clutch cover? I will try and find a pic somewhere to show what i was talking about. PP4218AVX. Some kind of tool less chain adjuster i am guessing.
Found a pdf file parts breakdown. look at parts 46 and 47.

Bar adjust

That's poulans tooless bar adjustment . There was a recent thread where a guy with a Craftsman saw had one that was stuck/broken and was asking how to fix it .
