Adding more oil in the first jug of gas will take few seconds, and will secure a better and finer break-in.
Maybe, maybe not. I run Royal Purple two stroke mix, it says I can go 100:1, the manufatures say 50:1 on all my saws. I run 50:1. Everytime I have taken one of my saws mufflers off or torn one down, everything is nice and oily. I figure the manufactures know what they are doing when they set this standard, I figure the oils I use are good, so I go with that. Now, if I were milling, I would up it to 40:1 just because of the heat and added wear and stress on the saw. I fail to see how more oil is going to help on the break in proccess, I am more worried about metal shavings, or if my saw was made Monday morning/Friday afternoon and if the assembler had a hangover/bad day and if I left enough squish area on my 346 when I put it back togther after it failed to meet my expectations! Never had a saw fail from lack of oil, and I doubt I ever will unless I do something stupid!
