NEW SAW (husqvarna 445 x torque)

traded my 440xtorque for this today,it if you ask me is the same saw only made better,(will get in to that ahead)
my 440 had developed oil pump failure after some part worked itself loose and fell off,a pin actually keeping it together, the saw had serious usage since i got it only this march,i might have caused this with compressed air,it's a possibility as i clean them every week, anyway i know for future now some causes of failures like this,so,i got a good deal on this saw,150euros only with my own one,my own was under warrenty so i got a decent discount.for what it was costing to repair my own i decided to go with this upgrade.

ok here ahead i will explain what husqvarna have done to improve the 440 and thus branding it a 445.

i don't have exact weights but this does feel slightly heavier.

covers and plastics look the same except for this nice feature DE-COMPRESSION valve,a MUST even on these
size saws i think as they can be hard to start.

the same tooless tensioner

up 5 cc going from the 440 to 445 ,the saw pulls noticably better/harder,has also a bigger clutch so less bog,
now it is better where i thought it lacked,in the bigger wood.

engine head is slightly larger

very nice new upgrade,a larger and top mounted element on the airfilter, gets clogged up less.

top mounted filter element, the old one was smaller and element was facing down.....

good looking saw,, the only thing i have against it is the chain tensioner,, other then that i like it

Across the pond the 435/440 are no longer available so the 445 is the bottom saw. It is not tooless here, but a great performer for a saw in its class and as a price point saw now.

5cc is just that 5cc, not much espe cially when comparing hp between the 440 and 445, but the decompression valve is nice as we all age.

any one here using the same saw? i'm intrested to hear what you think of it....

Used my wives 445 this afternoon to cut up a truck load of pin oak. Really nicely balanced, light, and powerful saw. For the $, 200, refurbished, very hard to beat. It's like a newly designed governed 44 orange top 44. Especially with it's nice anti-vibe. Still at 13,000 rpm's stock and 2.8 hp plenty of juice for medium firewood cutting. Really nice to use. It will surprise you!!

On mine the only real issue was that it was running way to lean.I had my dealer order the tool for me. I enriched it up on both sides and now it is a keeper for sure. One other minor flaw is it needs a kick stand.I did a minor MM on it. It helped quite a bit. maybe 15% Ken

thanks for the feedback.

yeah sawtroll it feels a little heavier,it was the first thing i noticed, but still very managable and usable in most of the small stuff.
you get used to it quick and the extra weight grows on you.

i cut another load yesterday with it and the saw is now loosening out nicely,it's on it's fourth tank and feels much more powerfull,it is starting to rev faster and pulls harder, that little engine is opening up nice,it's a real little powerhouse,i find this saw can easily now cut it's bar length (15") unlike the last 440 which bogged a lot in the bigger stuff.

i think they improved this saw a lot this time,i am glad i got it cause my last 440 oil pump litterly fell apart, think that was
it...wasn't worth putting money in to it for what i got this for.

i will update on this one when it has the same punishment taken that my last 440 took and that was A LOT......
