I just purchased a new saw ms362, any others i have i got used, but i was reading the manual and on page 28 at the top it speaks of a "break in period" they say dont put it at full throttle(off load) for the first 3 tanks of fuel so that the engine can "seat" properly"

yesterday (before reading the manual) i started it.. let it idle for say 4 minutes then spooled it and cut 1 log... will this be bad for my saw since it hasnt had the break in period..

I brought it to a job 2-day but didnt use it, Are they for real about the break in period?

Also it was windy today and i was climbing all day rocking back and forth now i still feel like im swaying kind of like being on a boat 4 a long time

I think by the break in period they don't want you to run wide open for extended periods of time. Many others on here will jump on and disagree but we have run every new saw we have bought like we stole it, we run them as we do any other saw, same mix,etc and have never had an issue.

When I got home from the Marines, I bought all new saws, 026,t200,036,065,pole saw, never broke them in per the instructions, we too, run them like we stole them, no problems at all. Now blowers, different story!
