Well I just started reading this months addition of "Loggers World" and about the 5th page in were there is always a Stihl add this time is was'nt for a saw it was for their "All New High Performance Chain" other wise known as Square Ground so I would imagine this is their RSK chain don't know for sure but I'm going to my dealer today to see if he has any..I'll let you know.

Later Rob.

Cool, let us know!! Rob, I'll be going out of town for a week or so but I shall return!! (maybe):D

Because I take good care of what I own and clean it daily...I went to my dealer today and he says he will have some by next week, but he does'nt really know much about it but he will soon enough..I plan on buying at least a few loops and trying it out..

Later Rob/Rod

Thats a good one Ben I spent close to $1000 so I could look at it and not use it now that makes me laugh .....Why don't we try and stay on topic for once..

I haven't personally been able to determine just what the RSK really is, and my local dealer doesn't know any more about it than I do.  A search of this forum for "RSK" returns this thread and another.  The other contains a rather authoritative-sounding description, but then it concludes by stating that it's RSC and not RSK.

My little catalog clearly shows it as RSK, as does the dealer's larger catalog.  RD is the carbide, and RSL is the square ground RS.  The image of the RSK appears to indicate it's a higher-profile chain than any of the others.

I have some 33 RSK

K means Klassic.

Use 13/64 file to sharpen.
It is the most aggressive chain they have in production. ( As stated by their tech support.)

Non safety full chisel with the tooth "designed most aggressive"

Okay let me try to explain. (restate what Stihl tech support told me)

Looking at the top plate of the chain tooth.
The width of the top plate is wider and goes narrower than a "normal" 3/8 tooth from cutting edge to the back.

Does the statement make sense?

So the Stihl tech at Pacific Stihl told me there is less friction and better chip removal. It keeps a edge better because of the sharpening angles but I do not know the official angles other than visual inspection.

Suppose to have some material or tempering differences but the tech guy was unsure.

33RSK is designed for large bars >20 inches.

Ben,

Do you actually have a full tree chipper ? I do not know if you are going off on a tangent or are serious. If you do I would like to talk with you about it.

you must have plenty of time to polish your saw since you're posting at 2 or 3 in the afternoon instead of working those 14 hour days you bragged about

Yup your right Dave nothing like getting the buffing compound out at 2-3 pm and giving it a buff job for all too see...Anyone else heard anything about this new chain??

Later Rob.

Anybody want to see a pic ?

Would you like to see a picture of the "new new" thing?

???? I was drunk last night. RSL is the Square, and RSK is the Classic.

I thought it cut slower? It is the old style cutters.
