Just want to thank everyone for all of the amazing wisdom shared on here. I've been lurking for awhile, searching the archives everytime a used saw pops up on the market. I dodged many a bullet by reading on here. Ended up buying a new Stihl MS261c on sale today, after much deliberation around the used machines. Brought it home and chopped up a bunch of willow that's been needing a clean up, and WOW am I impressed!. What an awesome saw! Thanks again gang. Heading out to collect some firewood soon, like a kid in a candy store!

Fine choice....be particular about the fuel and it will always be sweet...

Ethanol? I'll have to keep an eye on that. Most fuels up here in oil country have ethanol I believe.
Yeah you can get canned ethanol free or race gas but both are expensive. If you use it enough its not a big deal. You can buy expired avgas (villneuve airport used to sell avgas to anyone, not sure if they do anymore) and Rad Torque raceway sells race fuel which is also ethanol free.
