Hi I am new to milling and would like to get started, I have built furniture in the past and am looking to purchase a Granberg MK-III Alaskan mill with 30 inch rails, right now I have a 372 with a 20 inch bar, I do not want to run anything bigger than a 28 inch bar and would like to know what is the smallest bar I can use with it. Thanks

A 28" bar on a conventional alaskan will give you about 22" of cut which is about the max for a 70cc saw. According to Husqvarna it can run a 15" bar but that would only give you 9" of cut so I would stick with the 28" bar.
