Just gave my new gear box a maiden voyage, still have to make a lid for it but that won't take much. I wanted to run it through a day to see if I wanted to change anything, I think it's fine. The lid is going to to flip up in any direction or be able to easily be lifted off completely.

I can easily put this in the back of my pickup or across the front of my skidsteer trailer. I can now keep all my gear in one place and load it and unload it with skidsteer ease. When unloaded it goes on a wheel cart and gets pushed into the shed as pictured.

I had the 3120 and 60" bar in the saw rack with my 440, 361, and 2 tophandles, still had room to spare, so it worked out nice.

I'd really like to see that design when you finish. Looks good, Nails. Does it slide between the wheel wells on the 'yota or sit in there some other way I'm not envisioning?

Yeah, it goes between the wells. I put the forks on my skidsteer and drive them into the 2"x5" tubes on the bottom of the box to lift it up. Then, drop the tailgate on the 'Yota and drive it right in from the back, pushing it all the way to the front. Throw a quick strap around the back so it can't slide out and you're in business. It's 7' long so it sits on the tailgate a bit, but in a full size truck you could shut the gate.

The bottom tubes serve as a lift point for the forks, but also help stiffen the box over the 7' length. Helpfull, when you are fully loaded and only have 4' of fork.

Thanks ckliff, hopefully just in the trees, lol. I have plans to drag her up into a tree this bowhunting season, still have to buy that childrens saddle.

Nice work on the box man, but I would find out who put that ugly helmet with the H on it in your box and beat the crap out of them.

Nice set up. I like the idea of being able to pull everything out in one go. I presently have to load/unload my truck daily. (May have to get a larger skid steer though :) ).

One thing I noticed. I would not want to hang my rigging plate (rather have it in a bag) with all the bouncing going down the road, it will wear prematurely.

I had some harnesses for my kids when they were small, they loved them.

It show quite a variety that are available. My children used the Petzl Quistiti. Great harness, think I still have them.

Hey !

I have a fleet of hard hats, including one from Stihl. The Husqy Hat is my favorite. It has a rain gutter on the rim, better & more comfortable ear muffs, the face shield is more durable, and the 6 point suspension fits my head better and is more comfortable.

No advantage whatsoever to Stihl or any other I have ever tried. You must just be blinded by brand loyalty.

Not stihlomatic, he couldn't be biased, lol. I meant to ask you nails, how you like that pacific kevlar? I see murphy and DK rock them but they weigh more than the vertex. My vertex vent is hot as hell but lighter than the kevlar, how's that one on releasing heat?

:agree2:

I run all Stihls but Husky hard hats definately are superior...we just peel off the H sticker!!

LOL yeah I am brand loyal a little too much but on another note I got laughed at for refering to them as muffs in another post (not sure why) but this was in my reply and I think it deserves another showing.

Ear Muff

1rst, I like it! Nice and organized. I'm not a neat freak but I like to know where my stuff is and I can't stand it when guys leave Mtn Dew bottles, wrappers and bunch of crap laying around the floorboard or side bins.

2nd, Really like that chainsaw stand. I've only got three saws but that would free up one of my shevles and look cool too. I"m gonna have to copy off ya.

3rd, She is the cutest little thing. That little smile is priceless. She kinda reminds me of one of my son's little friends. She'll come over and drop a grape popcicle on the floor or something like that, and I just can't get mad at her. "That's ok honey, grape stains are fine"

Yeah that was posted in a post a while back or one like it. I have a cedar one in my garage as we speak. Thanks to the last time it was posted.

Thanks for the tip on the plate, I will get in back in the climbing tote with the rest of the gizmos. I have a rod at each end, designed for hanging all my ropes, I just haven't loaded it all down yet.
