Hello All

Happy New Year!!

On my fifth year of running a OWB to heat 3500+ sq ft. Normally very cold and burn 15 - 22 cord/ year.
Got some time on my hands, so I been collecting wood in the forest approx 3 - 7 km away, to reduce the amount I buy. The late snow made it possable to use the 1 ton flatdeck to get a load in late Dec.

when the snow came, I tried out a ski doo and sleigh approach- first load... all birch.

Wow, that's a lot of wood to be burning over a winter. Guess it beats the alternatives where you're at.

Oh, and you should get your helper his own ski doo instead of riding under the wood on the sleigh! :hmm3grin2orange:

looks like great fun to me. Gonna take alot of trips to get 15-20 cords though

How do you keep your wood in the trailer... :hmm3grin2orange:

Well so far, the sleigh is pretty stable, it on four skis, and handles inclines and bumps pretty good. could look at straps if things start falling off.
the birch will be used indoors to keep the Ms. smiling when she feels ambiance is needed to accent the heat the boiler is providing.

Nice wood mover for the winter months....Winter must be pretty long up there.

Ahh... Winter- normally starts early Nov- March- where temps can avg -25c - -45c.

This year lowest temp so far -21c, seems almost tropic.. minimal snow so far. Ski doo does allow me to travel over some terrain not accesible by truck. So picking cab be better
