Well... I have a 241cm on order. It has long plane ride ahead, hope it gets here in one piece.

Mmmmm, I live in Colorado and the last time I checked it is in the USA.

OK, you're in Colorado, and your MS241 came from overseas, the UK most likely. Do you know if the MS241 is readily available in the US?

You can get a refurb Husky 435 for about $150 shipped if you google around. Mine came out of tune but a $9 carb adjustment tool and a couple tweaks set it perfect. Power to dollar, it's hard to beat if you can tune them yourself and you don't care about a warranty past 90 days.

For limbing jobs, the MS180 with the easy to start option is nice too. The narrow chain cuts pretty darn quick and the powerhead is about 9.5 lbs with the easy recoil and sub 9 lbs with the standard. My only gripe about the 180 is the carb can't be adjusted out of the gate, but if you are happy running it stock, it's typically not an issue.

I just bought a refurb Husky 435 from probably the same place as Trailtrimmer and am very impressed. It did come out off tune and would not run at full throttle. A quarter turn richer on the high speed screw fixed it. Great saw for smaller consumer saw. Much better than my Poulan 4018.

I think he's horsing around by saying that last he checked the state of Colorado is in the USA.

Last I checked the MS241 is still unavailable in either Canada or the USA with no date set for "if and when" it should appear.

Why not go straight to the 445 then? Traditional adjustment screw and more power...

I agree on the 445 for me but she wasn't as comfortable with it due to weight/balance (just a personal preference of hers).

An acquaintance of mine came into the shop today and picked up somethings and when we were loading him he had a MS250c in the back of the truck so i was looking over it again and its a pretty darn nice saw but that easy start does add some extra weight, BUT again it will be worth it for her starting ease.

I'm going to go to a few dealers around as soon as possible and look at some husky's and stihl's that they have there with her. Thanks to you guys we now have plenty of options and ideas to why some and not others.

THANK YOU

My original post in this thread was directed at Brad because he is one of the few other people on this site that I think might spend the big bucks to get this saw to the states (and of course port it.)

Unavailable? It is easier than getting a saw from the local guy. click click click click, buy. and its on its way. Seems pretty darn available to me!

OP: Enough with the highjack, good luck with a saw for your wife.
