Ok, admit it if you will. How many of us are there, that are sitting home on new years eve, hanging around the arborist site, instead of bringing in the new year? Looking at the weather forcast, to see just how cold it is outside compared to how hot it is inside our homes. And convincing ourselves that it is just too damn cold outside to go party-hopping, especially at our ages. Afterall, new years just isnt the same as it use to be, when it was open season on stealing kisses at midnight from the cute girls who would normally have nothing to do with us.

Here's to us

Too old, too tired, too cranky, too angry, too much don't care to deal with the cops and idiots.
I'm a pooper, but no DUI and it twenty feet to go to bed when I am ready!

Just got done with The Dark Knight and now on Arboristsite.

Got some fresh wings in the oven and a fresh 7&7 mixed. Wife and kids just went to bed.

Learned many years ago that New Year's Eve partying is for amateurs and cops. I'm neither so I stay home.

wife, two young kids, steaks on the grill, crab legs--nah I don't need to go out anymore

I hear ya....Wife and a 5 & 6 year old. We are having fun with stuffed baked mushroom caps, shrimp, chips & dip, and me with a captain & coke. That is about the extent of it. We are nice and cozy @73°, I wouldn't trade it for nothing. The kids are all glass eyed trying to stay up.....bedtime is usually 8:00 but they will make it. Here's to everyone  have a happy new year.

girlfreind workin at the bar tonite and kid is baby sitting for a freind, just finnished putting the 026 back together and just got the echo to fire but will not run, needs a carb kit as the gas i poured out is very old and smell's like terpentine. happy new year to all

15 years ago my wife looked me in the eye and said it was time to make a decision. Was I going to quit drinking, or quit being married? I did a real quick assesment and decided I had too much invested in being married to quit. So drinking was the logica choice. That's ok though, I wasn't a very good drunk anyway. I later learned that it was more fun to watch the drunks at a party than to be one, and my head didn't hurt in the morning. I had to quit that too though, the temptation is always there so why beard the lion?
So here I sit, and all I can say is Life Is Good.

Andy

Hand me a roll, I am a pooper.

Had 2 beers since I got home at 3P. A few slices of pizza and some nachos. The wife is prego, and due at the end of Jan, but could go at any time. No major drinking going on within the coming days. (Besides I wanna go visit the Godson tomorrow so sleeping in is not an option. It is 72 in here, and cozy.

Happy Newyear Yall. :dizzy:

Just finished some ham & bean soup, some fresh chocolate chip walnut cookies and a nice tall glass of ice cold milk! The wood stove is set for the night and my lovely bride of 30 years just invited me to join her for a New Years party of our own right here our cabin in the woods! What more could a man ask for!!!!

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!

Bringing in the new year with AS isn't such a bad thing. I'm here any way. Just threw some wood on the fire and listening to some Bee Gees on the internet having a few beers in the shop (that's at my house no driving for me) life is good. Lots t be thankful for I hope everyone has a good and safe new year.

Cut and split all day, tossed some dead standing(Gotta be my last) ash into the fireplace, made dinner and prepped the salt pork and black eyed peas for tomorrow.
Rang in the new year with the wife, and a couple of Cokes.
Just the way we like things.

Happy new year Gang!!!

The kids are 'atmoms' till friday, the GF and I are split up, I don't drink but did pick up a beer from the carlot fridge after quitting time and plan on cracking one cold one in a few minutes.

Got out of the party stage about the time the firstborne came along. Her little one turns 3 about the time the noise is over.

Will be waking up the neighborhood with an air tank and a couple of party favors in a few minutes LOL. Is it to late for a non-dairy coffee creamer cannon in the middle of the street ?

I'm at work...saving lives and property.

Okay....so we really chowed on some awesome chili with fresh cornbread, kielbasa, and warm brownies with ice cream for dessert.

Happy New Year to all!

Well I did a little partying tonight but the wife and I was home by 11:00 so we could bring in the new year with our kids. It truly has been a good 2008 for us. Even though we lost alot in our 401k everyone is still here and healthy. And we are also enjoying free heat now. I feel really blessed and if 2009 is like this year I will be very happy.
