i have the chance to by a echo 702vl off cl but it seems that most people have only ran a 24" bar off the 702vl but the 750evl people have been running much larger then suggest bars and there is only a 7 cc difference. So my main question is could I run a 28 or 32" bar off a 702vl, this saw isn't going to be what I'll be making my living off of I would just like a larger saw. Here is where I have got my information for the saws.http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.n...0b2f5e44b7270cba88256d0d001e7efa?OpenDocument. And

Thank you

depends on what type of wood you are cutting. If it is soft wood you can get by with it, hard wood I wouldn't. Usually a 24 inch bar is more than adequate for most situations, 28" on this saw will be for your ego.

I should has stated that the saw will be used with a granberg mill so a larger bar will obviously be needed to harvest larger trees so it will not be a ego item as I'm sure alot of times these are. I was just looking for a little insight if the 702 could run larger bars, has any done any modifications to these saws I haven't been able to find alot of information on this saw.

If you are milling more than the occasional 12" pine log, you will need a larger displacement saw than what you have.

Buy a ripping chain or make one they cut a bit slower but also requires a bit less power. Your only cutting with half the cutters and the other half of your cutters are for scoring in the cut
