Well, I got my 1636 Skil frankinsaw (S25DA) cleaned, painted, and assembled. fueled it up and tried to light it up. No joy. No spark on the grounded plug. Had spark when I got it 5 years ago and couple weeks ago although recent spark was unimpressive. Gonna do some checking for shorts but if that doesn't pan out I'll be looking for a electronic coil.

A 25D is just a manual oiler. A 25 is 2.1 CI and a S25 means its 2.3 ci.
I hope this helps, I just come in and checked this board while getting my 45 auto to fix this 3400 that I can't get to start.
Don't think a 45 auto will fix a 3400, it will just put big holes in it, unless you're doing a muff mod.

Checked for grounding and found the switch, that I had previously tested as good, wasn't good. Conducted current to ground in both positions. Other than that she sounds great. Now on to the dumpster 306A find.
It was a clutch shoe out of a 3700. I have spares so I'm OK.

so how many screw hold the fuel tank/carb box/handle assembly to the cranckcase? I've counted three, all in the carb box, but it doesn't want to come loose. am I missing any or do I just need to use a BFH? thanks

No clean up. As arrived. The 2 CV havent seen much use IMO.
The 375 was missing the top cover, handguard, af cover and filter. The owner that traded it to me had just used a 3400 top and painted it etc.

I think the grey one is one of those 3.0 that is really a 3.4 that sears did in a marking deal going by the 358 number. Aaron had told me about this years ago on a thread on chainsaw repair site.
The one that was offered for a echo that started the 6 saw trading.
