Almost like a family reunion this weekend. Please do pop in from time to time. I know what you mean Gregg about keeping up with so many sites and Facebook groups. I visit this one the most, Facebook ones 2nd or third. I haven't worked on any saws lately, do have some I need to mess with but not in the mod again plus with my wife not having to go to work at the school, my honey do list killed my weekends at the farm.

Ohiogregg do you still have the big bore 5200. I found a 5400 with the big kit in it. It had been straight gassed but with fossil help I made it a runner again. On mine I fixed the bottom of the piston to match the OEM one. Nice to see you out here and be able to hear from you. Thanks

Yes I do Todd.. When I bought the P/C, I didnt know it was a big bore, and neither did the seller. Was just something that had been sitting on his shelf for long time. I remember the piston looked different and when I measured it, was couple millimeters larger. I Think ModifiedMark is the one that told me what it probably was. And by his figuring was likely 88cc. I honestly cant tell any difference when running it than a standard 85cc version.

When I did my 5200 I noticed the short side skirt faced the intake.

That is nice to see what it was like new ,thanks. The piston with the big cut out is the stock one and the other is the big bore with the small cutout and also blocks the ports when the piston is at bdc . I opened the one that I have, can't say how much it helps but it has to. I don't run mine very much because the chrome isn't the best but this summer I will give it a run. I have a p & c for it if necessary. 3 cc isn't that much but they are not many out there. So grateful for the information.

Hope everyone is doing well during this time of confinement. Glad to see OhioGregg back . Haven't been very active working on my saws. Also have stopped purchasing saws as I rarely use them . In fact, kinda thinking about getting rid of my Mastermind ported 4000. Been sitting on my shelf for two years and never been run. Whata waste. Hard to bring myself to part with some of my saws.

Hi Dan, Was thinking it was you that I got the P/C from. I recall the box was from a shop in Joplin Mo. My memory seems to come and go these days it seems. Yes, the saw ran great, worked out well. Just havn't used it much is the problem.

Hi Bob, good to see you again too. Speaking of not running some saws much, that beast I got from you hasnt got more than a warm up since i finished it. The 655BP. Not the ideal saw for cutting tree tops. LOL It was just one of those saws I thought I needed, darn it. And well, I got one. I do have one large gnarly Oak tree I took down on the edge of a woods last winter. I worked on it with my Husky 385xp. Just might give me a reason to fire up the 655BP and do some serious bucking.

Kevin, The older I get, the more I am liking your preferd models of Poulan saws.. LOL The 4000 is still and probably allways will be my favorite "all around use " Poulan saw, but am starting to like the lighter models a little more.

These are my go to small saws now. 3.3 54cc chrome bore 335 predator with 330 3450 pistons.

3ci weight with 54cc

I go by your way all the time now. Son bought a house up north of you.
