We had snow and high winds around here, half of my town and the town 9 min to the north of me lost all power. Lots of trees and limbs down. We had a big old cherry up root right at the main entrance of the school. Today we started limping and bucking. I made about 12 cuts with my 3450 and the damn recoil bouncing around. I never tightened the screws after I cleaned and lost 2. I continued with my 044. The Poulan rips with a 16”x3/8” sharp chain.
As a side note you get spoiled with a dump truck.

I went back in there this evening and the price on that 4200 was actually $240, however I made them an offer and walked out with both the poulan and the Husky 365sp. I’ll post some more photos when I get home then evening.

Well, here she is along with the 365.

Seems to have good compression but I didn't have fuel with me so I'll have to see if it runs tomorrow.

If any of you guys are actually interested in it I am not set on keeping it.

Looks like this will be my new hangout. I have piles of Poulans and love them dearly... Yes I sold my Husqvarna XP266, because I enjoyed and used my little Poulans far more. My babies that will never be sold while I am above ground is my 4300, 4620AVX and Super 250. Call me crazy, but they run just as good as the Husqvarna, they ask for nothing like the Husqvarna, yeah they all run Husqvarna LS oil, and my old Craftsman 3616 Grey and Black saw is still kicking it since I bought it new. I pulled the Muffler and took a picture of what hundreds of hours on a Poulan looks like on Husqvarna LS oil. Eat My Saw Dust Stihl Boys.

Working over this 4200 counter give getting ready to see if it will run.

Oregon bar on it, but the saw over all doesn’t seem to have much hard use. Also everything inside as far as dirt and oil is very dry so hasn’t been run in a while.

Never seen chain like this before with the double rakers.

Well, this is unfortunate.

Sharpened the saw, threw some fresh gas in it and it fired up and ran about the 10th pull. The recoil is sticky and I’m sure it’s gonna need taken apart and cleaned.

Unfortunately there is a tiny spot of corrosion on the bottom of the tank, and it has a little pin hole that leaks.

So now I’ve got to decide if I want to turn it into a project saw, or sell it, or part it out.

Common to see those holes, better to be located there than at the seams.

Clean it down to bare magnesium, apply 2 part well mixed JB Weld, and pull a slight 3-4 inHg vacuum on the tank.

Apply some more JB, vac it inside again, & then level it out on the outside. Put a piece of tape on the outside, over the JB.

If you can get to the holes on the inside, wait about 3 hours & then gently press the globs down with a chopstick or flat screwdriver end. Don’t do it while uncured ‘wet’, or it just makes a fricken mess.

Never had one leak again.

I repaired a motorcycle fuel tank with a liner kit, my tank has quite a few holes on both sides where water had settled. I followed the directions for the coating kit and it worked perfectly.

Just got an ugly 3700 going here. New crank seals and pulled the base gasket. Added the 4000 muffler aswell with the extra port.
