You might want to go to the ISA's website and read the list of recommended study material and books for the test.......

Do you have education in arboriculture or urban forestry?

When I lived there you could go to the County Ag. Extension Service and get a bulletin including local predominant diseases (and insects).

Read the study guide at least 3 times and get another book to read at least once.I took the test and you need to know 94 common and latin names. You can go on ******** and get alot of information about CA Test.Do the review questions in the back of the book. Also tree id i couldnt sleep the night before the test i got to a dinner close the test area about 4 hours before the test and studied my id.Good luck hope that helps.
