i used to think a 075 would out cut an 066...horsepower, torque, rpm's, bigger factors than a number...then my ol lady shaves off her eyebrows and draws them back on, i check this site once or twice a day for two weeks, read all 76 or more pages, she says i live on it...i'm goin out to the truck to sleep with my 066..........................and how does the 066 compare to the 075 anyway?? ....no, she really ain't that bad.....................guff:blob2:

The boss (only in her mind)

Guff,
Steve here...
My wife is convinced I have issues too...
An 066 set up right will eat a 075 for Lunch. The 075 has alot of torque, but no chain speed. The 66 has tons of chain speed, and good torque so I'm told. Same bar and chain the 66 will win every time.. i tach'd an 075 it spins 9000 out of the wood, I would guess 7500 to 8000 in the wood. My 088 spins 11500 to 12000 in the wood. I would hope a 066 would be similar if not more rpm.

I agree with z4lunch. 075's still a good saw.

Those old saws have the power but not the speed. A little bitty 136 or something will eat up an 075 in 2" wood, but there's no contest when you're swinging a 36 incher.
